Hello everyone,

I'm getting hundreds of error messages ¹ about a task called the
"Certificate Services Client" ² . Do people in our situation ³ need this
program?

This is the two message we are getting:

"ERROR: Task Scheduler failed to start
"\Microsoft\Windows\CertificateServicesClient\UserTask (or system task) "
task for user "PARENTSPC\User (and other users)". Additional Data: Error
Value: 2147750692."

"WARNING: Task Scheduler could not start task
"\Microsoft\Windows\CertificateServicesClient\SystemTask" because the
network was unavailable. User Action: Ensure the computer is connected to the
required network as specified in the task. If the task does not require
network presence, remove the network condition from the task configuration."

If we do need this, how ofter does it need to run ? Can I tell the "Task
Scheduler" to start this task with a trigger other than the default (on
logon)? The idea is to trigger this task only when we are on the network.

Thanks for your time and any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

Paul

1. ) They are high-level error messages in Vista's "Event Viewer"
2. ) From google.com: Certificate Services Client manages something called
"roaming certificates and user profiles". The description in Vista's "Task
Scheduler" says : "Certificate Services Client automatically manages digital
identities such as Certificates, Keys and Credentials for the users and the
machine, enabling enrollment, roaming and other services." What is this ?
3. ) We are just a bunch of home users who surf the web, use email, and chat
on Skype using a broadband connection from our ISP.
