Making Word 2003 files compatible with older versions

Is it possible to save a Word 2003 document as some sort of legacy file? I
need to make it compatible with Word 97.
 
Hi-

It depends on how complex the doc is in terms of '03 features. Since both
versions use the same file format you may simply be able to open the '03
filees with '97. Make a copy & try that first.

Another option is to open the file in '03, use File>Save As, open the Save
As Type... list at the bottom of the dialog box & pick Word 97-2003 &
6.0/95-RTF.
