making the whole picture show in the slide

I am setting up a slide show and importing pictures I have saved on my pc. I
can't get it to show the whole picture - it keeps cutting parts out.

Pretty hard for us to see what is happening on your PC. Which version of
PowerPoint are you using? How are you inserting your pictures? If your
picture size is larger than the page setup size then you will definitely
have chopped pictures when you display your slideshow.

Thanks It's 2003. I am inserting the pics by using the insert tab on the
toolbar. The pictures are photos I've saved as jpegs on my pc. How do I
alter the picture size and page setup size? Sorry I'm new to this and this
is the 1st time I've used powerpoint.

By default PowerPoint (unless you have changed it) will make you slide size
10"x7.5" so that it prints pretty on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. There are a
couple of ways you can adjust the size of your photos if they exceed the
slide size.

If you left click on your picture, you should get adjustment points at all
corners and the middle of your picture. You can click on any of the corner
ones, and drag it until the picture size meets your needs.

If you right click your picture along with the adjustment points you should
get a popup window with the option to size and position your picture. With
the Lock Aspect ration checkmarked, change any of the size numbers so they
fit within the 10x7.5 frame.

Or, you can before you insert your picture using a paint program resize your
image.
