I currently have a mixed mode AD domain, and I am wondering how I would remove a nt4 dc from the domain without actually formatting it, or removing it physically. I am just not sure how to make it a member server again....if that is possible.

I will get rid of the nt4 dcs, I just cant at the moment...is there anyway to stop them from being dcs while I change the domain function level?

Thanks

I tried testing it, but it is $100.00. I'm not sure if it is worth it, as I will only use it once. But in theory their software is nice.

But I dont know, if it were as easy as they make it sound....I'm sure MS would have something for it by now.

I think I may just wait until the nt4 dcs are totally offline, that seems to be the only sure way.

Thanks for the help though

I'm not sure that MS will support it if you use UPromote...

Well maybe not, but it works. I've used it to demote an old BDC. As I
recall I had to fix heaps of permissions. It all seemed logical at the
time, but I can't remember why!

I've also used it successully, but I just wanted to make everybody aware
that MS might not support it afterwards but I'm not sure.
