making my windows xp cd bootable

When i try to install windows xp from the cd my computer
cant boot it up even though i have the cmos set to boot
from cd and i think my copy of xp doesnt have the
bootable section on it can any1 help

Is this a retail or OEM XP CD? If it is, your system or CD drive may not
have the ability to boot from CD. All retail and OEM XP CD's are bootable.
If you have restore media, or created a XP CD from restore media, it may not
be configured correctly. Post back with more information.

you purchase your copy?
