Making FP 2002 links "universal"

My web site is www.northfieldcenter.com. I am getting complaints that the
hover buttons are not visible. How can I change them, but keep the
appearance "nice"? I have no experience with CSS and have read the online
tutorials but am confused.
Help.
 
Don't use Java Hover buttons, they require that your viewer have installed
on their machine Sun's JVM - java virtual machine.
