Making folders read-only

Is there a way to make a folder read-only, so that no new files can be
saved in it? I have tried checking the read-only attribute, but I am
still allowed to save files. FYI, I am running XP Pro, SP2.

Hi,

"Read-only" as an attribute on a folder is ignored by the system, it is a
file attribute. Set permissions on the folder so that it can only be read by
the users, do not allow write or change permissions.

The only way to make folders read only in the manner you are seeking is
to burn the folder to CD and finalize the CD.
