I have setup Windows XP on a computer that is mostly used by my
wife. I have modified my setting to a great extent, such as
switching back to the Windows 2000 style, adding IE to the desktop,
etc. How do I take the things I have done to the desktop and make
them the default settings so that the first time my wife and
daughter log into the machine, things are configured the way I have
them currently?

If it's XP pro, you have a copy user profile option under 'my computer,
properties, advanced, user profiles' .. but you'll have to log in as a
3rd party admin, because you can't copy to/from the account you are
currently using.

If it's XP home, you can accomplish much the same thing by copying bits
of the c:\documents and settings\<you> folder to the \<them> folder ..
or copy it to 'default user' and then every new user you create picks it
up by default (but be aware they may also pick up your OE settings,
Internet favorites, and suchlike, depending what you copy).
