making change from cable to dial-up

I will be taking my inspiron laptop on vacation, and now it is set-up for
wireless in my home using cable isp. I want to know how to go about setting
up for dial-up. I don't want to loose my wireless set-up if possible. How do
I do this??

If you're laptop has a built-in modem, all you need is a subscription to
some dial-up ISP (like AOL or MSN). For all it's faults, AOL does provide
very easy-to-use software and has local phone numbers almost everywhere.

If you're laptop doesn't have a built-in modem, you'll need to buy a modem.

In either case, the dial-up connections shouldn't interfere with your other
connection.

On the other hand, many hotels have wired and/or wireless internet access in
the room (if you are staying in a hotel; call and ask). And there are a *lot*
of places you can get free/cheap/expensive wireless access (McDonald's,
Starbucks, Panera). Try www.wifinder.com, or search on-line ("Google is your
friend").
