making a boot cd-system cd

Hi,how can i make a system or boot cd for my pc?I run win xp sp2-hp pavillian
1.5 mz.I can't seem to find a simple answer and am havin hard-drive
problems(get main drive failure imminent msg at startup)

Yep, go to http://www.bootdisk.com and download an iso image for a boot CD.
Then, use an ISO Recorder to record it to the CD. Then just slip it in, tell
the BIOS to boot from it, and you're on your way!
