Make column in subreport

I have a main report with one column, but I want to make 3 columns for the subreport. How can I do it?

The same way you would for a main report. With the
subreport open in design view, use the File - Page Setup -
Columns menu item.

Just make sure you specify the snaking option Across then
Down. Subreports are unaware of page related issues, so
they can not do the down - across kind of snaking.
