make cd bootable

P

paul

i got a windows XP pro cd but a few scratches damaged the
boottable part of the cd.

does anyone know how or what files i need to copy or
download from somewhere to make a new cd that will bootup ?

I can still accsess windowsXp program files inside the cd
and install it on a computer with windows in it. but i
can't do it in a computer that doesn't have anything in it.

Microsoft has a downloadable file to create boottable
floppy set of disks for XPpro and Home, is it possible to
use those files from the floppy and burned them on the cd?

Some third party burning utilities allow you to make CDs bootable. Check
with the vendor of your burning software for that.
