make appointments in a shared calendar you have subscribed to

I published my calendar in the internet. Initially my wife could see it and
on attempting to make an appointment in it an email request was sent to me
which I could accept or decline. Perfect.
After some fiddling now if my wife tries to make an appointment in my
published calendar she gets the message "you cannot make changes to this
read-only folder" Araggh!
I have tried unpublishing and republishing the calendar but to no avail

Define what "Fiddling" you did.

Well if I knew that it would be easier to reverse it!
Thanks for your help, but I know realise how stupid I've been. I now see
that double-clicking in the shared calendar doesn't work. To schedule an
appointment one must hold the mouse pointer over a time slot then click the
Schedhule button that appears to send a meeting request
All working now, Oops
