Make an icon

Hi
I would like to know how to make an icon for my desktop. XP Home. Any help
would be appreciated.
I would use BMP and also need to know how to associate it with a file name
or internet address.

edit the bmp file to 32x32 pixels in MS Paint. Save it and then rename
the extention to .ICO now point the Shortcut properties "Change Icon"
link to it.

Alternatively, Don might want to look into acquiring one of the
several freeware/shareware icon editors that are available. Google can
find them for him.
