Make a column read olny

Is there a way to make a column in Excel read only, so
that users will not be able to change the values in this
particular column?

lock the cells in the column (the default), unlock cells where you want
input and then protect the sheet with a password.

Format | Cells... | Protection tab | Locked = true (ticked)
