Major Sound Problem!

A

Adam

The sound on my pc was fine ( I have on board audio) and
one day when I booted it up, there was no sound at all. I
tried to play an audio file in windows media player and
it gave me and error message saying: Windows Media Player
cannot play the file because there is a problem with your
sound device. There may not be a sound device installed
on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or
it may not be functioning properly.

I checked to see that all my equipment was plugged into
their correct spots. I also checked device manager to
see if there were any conflicts or if anything was wrong
with the drivers but it said everything was in order. In
desperation, I bought a new sound card, hoping that it
would work. It didn't. I was really frustrated b/c I
tried all of the troubleshooters and they said they
couldn't help me. If anyone can help me, PLEASE email me
at (e-mail address removed)

Any help would be appreciated!

Adam can you please tell me if dev's registry tweak solution worked for you
as i had the same problem, bought another card and still have the same
problem. The restore-sounds registry tweak never worked for me.

I'd be interested if it works for you

TIA

Sheri
