hi! i have a nf7-nforce2 board with three memory slots. two of them were
filled with 256mb 3200. then i bought a stick of 512mb 3200 off ebay hoping
to make my computer have 1024mb. when i put it in and started it up,
everything worked beautifully. when windows had fully loaded, i went the
system icon to check and see if had 1024. sure enough, i did. then after
about fifteen seconds, a blue screen came up and said "windows has just
encountered a serious error, windows was shut down to prevent further
damage". i took out all of my memory and tried the 512 stick on all slots,
the same happened on all of them. help please!!

Hello

Well put your origianl memory back in and see what happens
have you tried that yet.

You need to make sure that the memory module is 110% compatible with your
motherboard.

Read all the specifications and also cross check with the specs on the
existing memory modules.

Also, just so happens that sometimes modules are faulty. Try asking for a
replacement.

Also, make sure you didn't get a faulty chip. Run a memory diagnostic
on the memory. Check out www.memtest86.com for a good memory diagnostic
program.
