Mailwasher deleting *wanted* emails

This is slightly awkward as it relates to my mother's email setup; I've
been trying to help her with this problem using 'Remote Assistance' but
as I don't use or know much about Mailwasher myself, I'm struggling a
bit! She had the program installed by a computer tech after a virus
attack some time ago to cut down on incoming spam etc.

Symptoms are that Mailwasher is apparently deleting some incoming emails
without trace, before she's had a chance to read them or do anything
with them. Apparently she can normally classify incoming messages in a
'quarantine' window into good or bad, but sometimes they just get
deleted anyway. Messages from me are frequently 'zapped' (my email
address is (e-mail address removed) - would that make any difference?
Yesterday I added that address to her "Friends" list, but it hasn't helped.

Any ideas? What could cause this?

I use 'Popfile' myself for spam protection and love it. I may bite the
bullet and convert her to that, but would prefer not to have to!

Thanks
David

I've never used mailwasher. Have you checked with their support? Tried
looking at the options when you use remote assistant?
