Mails disappearing.

I tried to move a mail to a folder using "Right Click >
Move to folder > OK" without selecting any folders. The
default selection was "Personal Folder". Noted that this
mail had moved from the inbox. But no idea where the mail
has gone. Please help to find those mails.

My guess is that they're on level up from the Inbox, directly in the
"Personal Folders" level. The OP should click on "Personal Folders" and see
if they're there.

that won't show them - the OP has to go to Outlook Today Properties and
untick the "homepage" (I think that's it - not at my Outlook computer at the
moment.....)

It certainly does for me. Of course, I don't have my Personal Folders as my
default delivery, so, for me, "Personal Folders" and "Outlook Today" are not
the same thing. They may not be for the OP, either, but the OP didn't give
enough information to make that determination. That's why I said what I
did.
