mailing list help

What do I have to do in order to create a box on the site where visitors to
my site can add themselves to my mailing list. I have no idea how to do
this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mike,
You'll have to create a form that saves the user's email address to
a database or file. You need to be careful though because newsletters are
now required to have certain features on them, such as a way to remove
themselves from the email newsletter at any time, either through a link that
automatically unsubscribes them or through an email address that does the
same. If you are trying to create a newsletter mailing list, it may be
easier to find a newsletter management script or application (or even hosted
service) that is compatible with your host and will offer these features and
help you maintain your email newsletters.

Thanks for the help Mark. The company hosting my domain has mailing list
software as part of the web service. I guess what I am asking is how I
interact the form on the website with my web hosting service, or is that
what the management script does?
