mailbox cleanup, outlook 2003

user is using mailbox cleanup and server level size for sent items is roughly
23000kb but he has an empty sent items folder. all subfolders have been
checked but we are still unable to locate the emails. any suggestions?

Does "mailbox cleanup", whatever that is, actually perform a compaction
after the cleanup? Deleted items still exist in the .pst file (if using
one). Outlook simply hides delete-marked items. You have to compact to
actually physically purge the delete-marked items from the file.

'mailbox cleanup' is off the tools options...found out the user was looking
off the 'local data' tab instead of 'server data'. sheesh...
