This is a newsgroup, one hosted by Microsoft. It's a public place and
doesn't have members. Anybody can post here whenver he wants to without
first "joining."
You don't get E-mail from a newsgroup (unless you post your real address and
someone elects to send you mail). You get responses to messages in the
newsgroup itself.
Finally, you are trying to participate here using Googlegroups. Googlegroups
is a great way to search newsgroups for previous posts, but a very poor way
to actively participate. Do yourself a favor and switch to a newsreader,
