Mail View Question Please

Outlook 2003

When the unread mail (Search Folder) is highlighted section on the upper
right (not sure of it's correct name) used to show the unread mail (from,
subject, received, etc.) grouped by which folder they were in (due to
message rules). Now the title bar of that section simply reads "Unread
Mail". How do I reset it to the folder grouping (not by date) please.
Also, again I'm not sure how but the icons I chose to customize the toolbar
with are gone and they are back to the defaults. That I can fix no problem
though. Any ideas what may have caused this?

I was under the impression that that choice grouped the email by today,
yesterday, last week, etc. rather than individual folders i.e. friends,
business, newsletters, etc.

You could always use View>Arrange By>Current View>Messages. This shows me
the list of messages, with the right-most column being "Folder". You can
then click the Folder column to sort by that, if you wish, so that all
messages in the same folder are listed together.

However, in a Search Folder, Show in Groups doesn't necessarily give you the
same grouping as it does in other folders. In the Unread Mail folder, the
Show in Groups option does exactly what Ben says: groups the messages by
folder.

Nope - it groups by whatever the arrange is set to. If your arrange is
set to folder it will group that way. If your arrange by is set to date
then it will group by Today, Yesterday, etc.
