Mail Rules not processing

I was using Outlook Express then decided to swap to Outlook. My rules
seem to have been imported okay but none of them are being processed.
I can run the rule wizard and have it 'run now' and then they are
processed properly. I tried adding a couple more rules thinking that
maybe it's just the rules from my OE. They fail too... I'm using
Outlook XP on Win XP. Any help would be highly appreciated.
 
Open the Rules Wizard and ensure your rules are checked.
