Mail Notification Outlook Connector with Outlook 2007

Global preferences are set for a mail notification and I get the systray
icon with both POP and IMAP, but not with my Hotmail through Outlook
Connector. I can't find a Connector setting anywhere to do this, is there
one?

No, it will only pop-up if the account is the default delivery location but
then it would alert you for your POP3 account anymore. You can install
Windows Live Messenger and login with your Hotmail account there to receive
notifications.

I have Windows Vista Premium, Outlook 2007. I can not get the Notification to
show me I have new mail. I have the connector set up correctly as it sends
and receives. My hotmail is the ONLY account there so it is the default but
still no notification. I even set up a rule to show a desktop notification
for that account (as I said it is the only account so it is the default) but
that did not work either. Ideas? or will I just not get shown a notification
using this service?

I believe accounts accessed via the Outlook Connector can't produce the
