mail message coming out of hibernation

my xp tells me all of a sudden that I have 13 new e-mails
from hotmail. Every time it comes out of hibernation it
says 13 mails. Is there any way to clear this? Thanks

I got it there were 13 mails left in outlook express
hotmail box. I have been using outlook for nine months and
started using the hibernate feature a couple months ago. I
do not know why it just picked them up. But when I
deleated them it took care of it. Thanks again!
