Mail Merge with Public folder

I am working with a client that has setup a global contact list using an
Exchange public folder. We are trying to use these contact records to
perform a mail merge with Word 2003 to print labels and a form letter.
However when we try to access the contacts we get a message indicating that
there was a database error. It does work with the users personal contact
folder.

Is there anyway for Word to access a Public Folder contacts folder when mail
merging?
