Mail merge sorting issues

F

fskcmc

I have Outlook 2002, upgraded from 2000. Whenever I try to do a mail merge
without sorting, it works. But when I try to sort by postal code, it crashes
every time. If anyone knows what I need to do to solve this issue, I
appreciate your help and thank you ahead of time! It's very difficult to sort
650 addresses by hand!

Are you starting in outlook (tools, mail merge) or in word? If in outlook,
does it work if you sort the addresses before you start the merge?

To sort by the field, click the column header. eg to sort by State, click
the column header State.

okay, well, that sorts them by state. Which is a little better. But before I
upgraded, I could sort by postal code. I tried sorting by postal code after I
sorted them by state and it still crashed. I really need them to sort by
postal code.

So why not sort by zip code instead of state before doing the merge?

I said for example, sort by State. eg = for example.

Sort by any column you want to.

What do you mean by it crashes? Be exact. Is their an error message? What
does it say?
