Mail Merge problems

Using outlook 2002 and windows XP
When I try to mail merge a pop up message stating.. either is no default
mail client of the current mail client cannot fullfill the messaging request.
Open outlook and set it as the default mail client. I believe I have done
that but it doesn't work. If I go to detect and repair it works but only for
that session. Any help?

This would suggest that your default Outlook profile does not contain a
valid mail transport and/or that the Outlook Address Book is not configured
correctly to connect to your Contacts Folder.
Verify these settings in your default Outlook profile and ensure that
Outlook is indeed the default mail client for your OS.

If I go to email accounts and then to directories I have both outlook address
book and personal address book listed what else must be done or what am I
missing?

I can think of no valid reason for you to have a PAB in Outlook 2002. Why is
it there?
Clean up your profile. Make sure you have only the Outlook Address Book and
that it is pointed correctly to your Contacts Folder.
