Mail does not appear in Outlook 2007 Inbox

I have recently left an Exchange environment. In order to get my
appointments to work in my PST file, I changed my Exchange account from
cached mode and pointed it to the same PST file as my POP accounts, and then
allowed my POP account to be the default.

Now, when I click Send/Receive, I see the progress bar showing e-mail being
received; however, I do not see it in my Inbox. I have tested by going to my
Webmail for my POP account and seeing e-mail there. I have confirmed that
after performing a Send/Receive, the e-mail is no longer in the Webmail. The
problem is, that it is not in my Inbox either.

I am able to send an e-mail from within Outlook to one of my other accounts
and confirm receipt there.

Any thoughts on why I do not see new mail in my Inbox?
I would also like to delete the Exchange e-mail account; but when I try to
do that, I receive a message stating "You cannot delete this Outlook data
file. Configuration information in the file is being copied to your new
default data file. You can delete the file after this information is
copied." This message continues to appear, even after several days. Any
thoughts on how to remove this account from my Outlook?

I have the exact same problem. Does anyone have any idea how to
delete the original PST file Outlook creates? I've tried several
different ways of creating the new pst file, but Outlook does not give
any opportunity to create an original pst file outside of the C:
drive. It first creates it on the C: drive then you are allowed to
add a data file and change the new data file to default. But it won't
let you delete the original one, as it continually says it's in the
process of copying it.

Any/all help is most appreciated.
