Dear Roady,
Yes, we are planning to upgrade to exchange server(2000),
I think in exchange every users send/receive mail copy
(only copy) can directed to a particular mail box or user
isn't it?

Please I need some advise from you.

Best Regards

Yep, but why Exchange 2000? Why not Exchange 2003?

Tips of the month:
-Backup and Restore
-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

Dear,

It is only because I have SBS2000 which comes with
exchange2000, also I have 35 user licence, If I go for
exchange 2003, then again an investment on software +
licences.

What Kind of security to be implemented before making
exchange server. Like firewall, router, spam, junk
filtering, virus checking, spam etc.

pls advise

Fair enough :-)

Firewall and router considerations are quite the same as you are probably
running already. Things to think about is whether to allow users to remotely
connect to their mailbox and what kind of access you want to give them;
Exchange over VPN, POP3 (not recommended) , IMAP or OWA (recommended for
most situations).

Spam filtering; a third party product as Exchange 2000 doesn't have this
natively
Virus Scanning; a third party product that allows you to scan the database

Dear,
Thanks for the info.
I like to have all the users should download their mail in
to outlook (as .pst) instead of reading directly from
server. And I have one or two roaming users for them I
think Webbased mail is ok isn't it?
Exchange over VPN is much slower on 128Kb leased line -
correct?
How secure "web based mail" ?

Pls advise
