Magnified Desktop

I am working on an HP desktop, new machine running XP Pro SP 2.

Magnifier under 'Accessibility' is off, and Control Panel --> Display -->
Appearance --> Font Size and 'Effects' are all off.

Where else might I be able to stop making all my icons, text, etc. huge on
my screen? My wallpaper is normal size, no distortion or magnifying.

Try a higher resolution. Rt click Desktop>select Properties>Settings>Move
the Slider to the right for a Higher Resolution.
At least 800x600 or the next one 1024x768. Click Apply , Ok.
