Magnifier tool

Hi Group,
Using Vista 64, I like the magnifier which is available under the Ease of
Access menu. I usually reduce it to about .5 x .5 inches and leave it in a
corner of the screen until I need it. I would like to be able to do these
things: 1) Minimize it to the task bar, but there is no minimize button to
do this; 2) put a shortcut on the Quick Launch toolbar, but I can't figure
out a way to do that either (no right-click option for it). It seems you
either have to keep it open on the desktop, or close it and then re-open by
going thru Control Panel, Ease of Access menu. 3) I'd also like to have the
magnifier up and enlarging one spot on the screen (an image in old
handwriting) on one side of the screen, while transcribing it into a word
processor, database or spreadsheet on the other side of the screen.

I used to be able to use my MS Mouse which has a magnifier option button on
the side in WinXP, but in Vista 64, the magnifier button causes the screen
to flicker, blacken, and then it pops up, which is very annoying. Microsoft
is aware of this but hasn't committed to fixing their own mouse product to
work correctly in their own system product, Vista 64.

Any ideas? If you know of a Vista 64 compatible mouse with an option button
to magnify, would you please let me know?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Kathy,

I'm not sure about the resy, but the location of the Magnifier tool is
at:

C:\Windows\System32\Magnify.exe

You can create a shortcut with it and add it to Quick Launch.

Hope this helps some,
Shawn

Thanks Shawn! I was able to add it to the Quick Launch. So much easier
to use now.
KT.
