Macros in Normal.dot

When I start Word, it asked me to enable or disable macros. This has never
happened before. I did not add any macros to normal.dot. I also did not
change the macros security setting (medium).

The warning is intentional if you open a document that contains macros or if
you install an add-in or template that contains macros without setting the
security option to trust installed templates and add-ins. My guess is that
you have installed an application with a Word add-in. It could also be that
you have picked up a virus attempt, so check your AV measures are up to date
and do a complete system check. Also download and run Adaware to check for
spyware.

L.S.
I have the same problem starting and exeting Word and Excel and Outlook
after installing the upgrade to office 2003.
Please tell me how to enable all my existing macro's or how to lower my
security proporties. My computer is well prtected to viruses and by ad
aware, spybot and
several other spy ware protecting programs.

Set tools > options > security > macro security to medium and on the trusted
pubishers tab, check trust installed templates and add-ins.
Do not turn off macro security if you open any documents that you have not
written yourself. Anti-virus measures will not see malicious macro code as a
potential problem. You can do all sorts of things in vba that will cause you
grief that are not viruses.
