macromedia flash popups

R

r.e.s.

I'm using Google's free toolbar which has a popup suppressor.
It works great great except for the occasional macromedia
flash popup, sometimes with sound. Hence my question:

Is there a way to disable macromedia flash? (I don't see it
listed among the software for add/remove.)

Thanks,

if it pops up when visiting a website with graphics that
site might require macromedia flash to complete loading.
these would be websites with animation type graphics.

have you ever seen websites that have option for "flash"
and "some other" style. that's macromedia "flash" i
believe.

if you accept the download of mcromedia flash once it
will not bother you again until there is update of flash.
they will not send you spam. and the flash file is small.

read the previous answer.....

you can't "disable" it. if you don't want it when you
visit a "flash" type site just pick [no]. if you accept
it once it will "not" appear again. flash will not hurt
your computer. i have it installed from back in win98
days. it has been around for YEARS. movie websites use
flash a lot. so far spybot-adware have not removed flash.

you might check your pop-up blocker tool and see if they
can add it to "your" copy of blocker tool. might be in
options. try tool help.

You could use your Security tab. Set to Prompt (or Disable)
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
