Macro Recording Software

My OS = Windows Vista Ultimate. I am interested in macro software that works
with my OS. I did a Google search and came up with many different programs.
Anybody have any experience/suggestions as to a good one that plays well
with Vista? Free is nice, but I don't mind paying for something that works.

TIA

AutoIt is one of the best, it's now grown into a full programming language,
with a substantial range of functions. Like most software it is bound to have
Vista issues, but the latest version claims to be pretty-near 100% Vista
compatible.

I've used it to write some fair-sized programs, which arguably would have
been better written in C, but then again, AutoIt is much easier and quicker
to code in. I was also pleased to see that most of the code I'd written for
2000/XP needed only minor mods for Vista.

There is a keystroke recorder if you don't want to delve too deeply into
coding, but simply need to repeat tasks.
