Search Issue

OS = Vista Ultimate SP1 - all available updates applied.

I searched for .tib files (Acronis True Image Backup), on G:\ drive , a
separate storage HD (no OS), and it showed 13 files. There are actually 4 on
the drive, 3 of which showed up in the search. I have 10 files that are "no
longer located in G:\".

If they aren't they, how do they show up in a search?

I'm pretty sure ''search'' is my least favorite Vista feature, along with
its inability to remember folder view settings.

Again Paul, Thanks.

I dual boot between Home Premium and Ultimate, so I'm not sure the indexing
was set up or updated correctly. I have made some changes, some of which
appear in the article, and expect things to be better once this drive's
index is rebuilt. I have got to learn to do some things differently when
going back and forth between C: and D:.

I am pretty sure the problem here is firmly planted in the chair in front of
the machine - me ;-)
I am learning though......................slowly.

This post, I believe, addresses your search issue.

Bchat,
Probably not the approach you seek, but...

I am fond of the dos command, DIR.

Not as fancy, but quicker and simpler.
