Don't know if it's OT, this message is about a McIntosh program, but
it is-was freeware ...

It's a program to connect a software controlled radio, the Icom PCR-
1000, to a Mac. The program came in two flavours: version MacOS X -
HQX and version MacOS Classic - HQX.

I tried to use Archive.org, and found some archived pages, see
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://homepage.mac.com/twautele/ , but
the download links didn't worked.

And no more fortune with an FTP search and a Tucows for Mac search.

Anyone can help? Thanks.

Thanks Al, but I found this page, when clicking on the file size I got
this message from FireFox:

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to

Could you download them? Thanks again.

No. I should have tried before I posted. And those 2 were the only
result of a deep web search. Maybe someone who still has the install
file can put it somewhere you can download it from. I'd host it if
someone had it.

Al, I succeed to contact the author of the software and he has sent me
a copy of the last version for MacOS X. I can send it to you, but
should you think it would be better to contact him before? Bye.

If you email me his email address I'll ask him if he wants it hosted.

Hi Al, any news? Do you think that I should contact him?

I posted, Vincent. I heard from him and it's okay, so send me a link
to download it from or, if you have no place to put it and it's not
too large, try emailing it to me.

There'll be a link to it at <http://www.Webdingers.com/scanner.html/>
- actually the link is already there, but it's commented out until I
get the file from you.

OK Al, it's a 900 KB file, so I think there will be no problem emai it
to you. Otherwise, I can send you an invitation to gmail; even better,
I'll do the two things togheter! Just hope your email is correct.

Just sent you an invitation to GmMail and the file. Remember that the
author don't support it anymore, and please be clear it's a MacOS X
program for the control of an Icom PCR-1000 (I can't try it, don't
have a Mac and neither an Icom PCR-1000) so it will be easy for people
interested in it to find it via a Google search.

A MacPcr screenshot is here:

There is another program that makes the same of MacPcr, it's
MacR-100, http://software.manoverboard.org/macr1000/help-index.html ,
with a freeware version and a payware (21.95 USD or 19.25 Euro)
version: "Licensed copies can save and export saved-frequency lists."

Ciao and best regards.

Got them both, and it's done.

For whoever keeps lists of such things, the file is now available at

I can't try it either, but I have the storage space, so ...

I see you've pasted part of a mine post. So I didn't make any mistake
in English? It's not my motherlanguage ... ;-)

From the first line I'm guessing that your native language is Italian.
If I'm correct, your English is far superior to my few words of
Italian. :)

If anyone finds a problem with your English, they can email me at
dev@null. :) Seriously, I've seen posts made by American kids that
are far worse - and English *is* their mother language.
