Machine reboots during repair installation

My computer has been rebooting every 8-10 minutes. After trying all kinds of
things to fix the problem, I tried a repair install. But the machine rebooted
during the install. Now I'm stuck in setup, can't get through an install
without the machine rebooting, and can't get out of the install. Any advice?

Machine was running XP home SP2 (with all the updates as of yesterday.)

Thanks.

Is the fan running? Heat can cause a reboot.
