Machine reboots after login...

S

skull_leader7

About 50% of the time when I login, the machine simply reboots about
20 seconds after I typed my password and hit enter. The other 50% of
the time, I log in fine, no problem. It only does this after the
login - I can boot the PC and let it sit there at the login prompt
indefinetly and its fine, but 10-20 seconds later it reboots. Anyone
have any idea what might be wrong? Its a very annoying problem
because most of the time, I have to wait for my machine to effectively
boot twice before I can start using it.

Thanks in advance for any help...

Open Control Panel - System - Advanced and click on the Settings
button in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section. In the Startup
and Recovery window click on the checkbox for "automatically restart"
to clear it.

That should put an end to the reboots. However they may be replaced
by a "Blue Screen Of Death" STOP error message. If this does happen
then the contents of the STOP error message including the STOP code,
all 4 parameters and any file or module names mentioned will be a
direct clue as to the underlying cause of the problem. Post that
information back here.

Good luck
