A friend has a Win 2k machine that starts up, runs scandisk, finds no
errors, but then just as windows 2k is loading resets and starts all over
again. I've told him that I reckon its a psu or overheating problem. Any
other ideas ?

sounds like a power loss
weak PSU

Well it is a spit "Tiny" machine, and I've seen the puny psu's die loads
before. I'll recommend a new case/psu

I hope it is the power supply, but it could also be bad RAM or cache
memory. Do a thorough test of your memory (including the cache RAM) if
you can or disable the cache to see if it is your problem.
