Mac to Win XP connectivity

I have a Mac G3 (OS9.2.2)with 2 USB printers connected. I recently purchased
a XP Home laptop. I inserted a wireless router between the Mac and the cable
modem. Both computers can access the internet with no problem but I cannot
get them to see each other. Best case I would like to print to the Mac's
printers via the wireless connection. If this is not possible I would settle
for transfering the files to the Mac and print from it. Can anyone give me
some insite on how to get this set up?

The worst option would be another piece of hardware, an ethernet to USB
print server, connected one of the ports on the router. Can anyone recommend
of these devices?

You don't need to buy any more hardware. Since you don't have OSX, which
comes with Samba, I think you have to use a third-party program. I've
heard that something called "Dave" works well.

I saw "dave" mentioned in several other threads. Do you have any idea where
it comes from?

I worked for a company that had Macs and PC's on their network. On my desk I
had a Mac G3 and a Thinkpad with NT on it. I shared files with between them
all the time. I have been retired for a couple of years and I don't remember
everything about the system. I do not, however, remember any extra software
to make them talk to eachother. We had PCMACLAN in the early days before the
PowerPC machines but I don't think it was on my G3.

You wrote a reply to Peter G. awhile back. He seemed to have his network
working in one direction but not the other. His problem was solved with OS X.
I cannot upgrade my Mac to OS X so I may be stuck.

I don't want to say you're stuck. I just can't help you beyond the very
rudimentary information I've already posted. I did try out a Mac on my
network running OSX and thought it very nice. I just don't have time to
become an OSX expert. I have a friend who is, and I pass all potential
clients looking for Mac help to him. I think you'd be better off
posting in a Mac networking forum, where people will have the answers
you need.

Here's the url for Dave:

Good luck,
