Mac Powerpoint and compatibility with a PC?

I am working on images for two major reports for UNESCO and UNDESA,
FRance and New York. I recently sent some of the images in jpeg, which
were in named folders to UNESCO but some of the folders would not open.
I renamed all the folders at the same time using the same name and then
the PC was able to open the folder. If I do not write the names of the
folders at the same time the PC was unable to open some of the folders
and I do not understand this. Nothing was changed in the name of the
folder I just retyped it.

I need to use Powerpoint 2004 so I can add information with the images
as this is visual anthropology and much information needs to go with
each image. I also would like to know how to import many images at one
time to Powerpoint as I am working with hundreds of photo documents.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you linking the images in PowerPoint, or are you inserting them into
the presentation. If you have a good reason to link them, then you should
make sure the PowerPoint is in the same folder as the pictures before
inserting the links to the pictures. That should avoid any problems with
folder names.

You should check out this entry from the PPT FAQ that talks about ways to
import large numbers of pictures into a presentation. There is even a Mac
option there:
