My drivers on my mother board for the 'onboard' sound keep disappearing. I
have to put the M/Bd Cd back in and reinstall. This happens quite a lot.
M/Bd L7VMM2 Socket A. I have had this board for a few years now and never
given trouble like this before. I have just reformatted the drive and
reinstalled XP but it is still happening. I tried a Sound card I had and
that worked ok but it altered all my Capture Card installation and rendered
that inoperable.
As it's a new install I wouldn't expect any viruses or spyware.
Any help please.

Even if a MB is almost new in its release the MB mfg has an update for it,
try updating youre MB BIOS...Also,chk the BIOS for sound settings, able or
disable for a sound card..

I do have onboard sound enabled in the bios.....as I said it installs the
drivers ok but then they disappear next time. Never done a Bios update and
looks too hard to do so not familiar with that operation.
The point is it worked ok for some years so why go belly up now???
