I just got one hell of a good deal at my local Best Buy! I got an AMD Athlon
64x2
4600+ 2.4 gigs with 2 gig of RAM, a 400 gig SATA HD, and all the other
bells and whistles included. Gues what i paid? $400! Yup you read right! It
was a floor model which was marked down from $1100 to $600 (monitor not
included), i had priced building one at about $1500, so I decided to purchase
the system; when the cashier scanned the computer, it rang up at only $400! I
informed the cashier that was the wrong price, she spoke with the manager who
let me have the machine for the $400! What a steal! I know some of you are
saying it may not be the greatest PC out there, but man the CPU and the RAM
alone would have cost me $400 alone to custom build! (The CPU was just above
$200 bucks while the RAM was just under $200). I also got a "coupon" for
Vista Premium, not a bad deal eh?

This is a big jump from an Athlon XP 1 gig CPU with 512 mgs of RAM. I don't
plan on junking the old machine, I am going to use it as a storage machine. I
plan on stripping it down to just a network card, video card, a cheap DVD
burner, and a HD or two. I'll probably use XP on it to save resources.

Looking forward to seeing how Vista will run this machine, on my older
system Aero glass did not work nor did some of the other features. I'm not
planing on installing RC1 or 2, gonna wait for the real deal. peace out!

Never mind what others would think as long as you're happy with the new
"tool" or "toy" :)

Good luck :)
