I have a laptop that won't start up properly. When starting it comes up with
the following error message.....

lsass.exe - System Error. Object Name Not Found. OK.

I've tried a Windows repair using the original SP1 disc but that hasn't
fixed it. The error message also comes up when starting in Safe Mode. I've
tried Last Known Good Configuration but that doesn't work either.

When I click OK on the error message it just restarts and loops straight
back to the error message again. I can't gain access at all to check for
viruses, etc.

Is there anything else I can do before trying a full reinstallation?

Thanks

No, you've done everything. Test at least the hard drive and the RAM to be
sure they are healthy and if they are, do a clean install. If you need to
back up data first, boot with a Bart's PE or Knoppix and retrieve the data
before doing a clean install.
