lsass.exe error with Win XP PC

I have a PC running WinXP home edition. It has worked very
good until yesterday.
Since yesterday, when it tries to restart, it shows this
error:

lsass.exe application error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006)

And it becomes blocked.....
Any of you could help me to find out the cause of this
problem, and its solution ???

There is a lot of information about this error on line - do a Google
search using the terms "lsass error". Unfortunately, the only thing
that ever worked for me was a complete reinstallation of the operating
system. You could start with a repair install, however.
