I am running Windows XP Pro sp2 with all the latest patches. I'm not
sure when it started - but I have recently noticed in Task Manager that
the lsass.exe process is constantly doing disk I/O - in excess of a
million reads and writes/day.
I have tried shutting down absolutely everything in the machine and
turning off permission for remote access. Nothing I do seems to make
any difference. I run behind a firewall and have the latest anti-virus
and anti spyware software - all of which says the machine is free from
any viruses/spyware. Latest (10/14/04) Stinger finds nothing.
I see other people have reported this but I can't find a solution
anywhere. Any idea how to identify the source of this problem?
