The double monitor icon that shows if you are connected
to the internet constantly has a red X on it. It doesn't
matter if I am connected or not. If I right click on it,
I get the Open Network Connections prompt. When I do
that, I get my dial-up saying "Connected" which is good.
I also get - under LAN or HIGHSPEED Internet- it says
1394 Connection disabled 1394 Net Adapter. This is new
in the last few days. When I first purchased the
computer, the double monitors in the right bottom corner
would do the on/off flicking thing that shows you're
connected.
Did I change some setting somewhere by accident? I do
have a dial up, and don't subscribe to any kind of faster
service. THANKS!
Sue

Hey moron that is because you have both a modem and a
network interface card in your computer. The icon you are
seeing is for the nic. Buy a glove and get in the game.

Boy, I guess you told her CT. She certainly won't come back here for any
help. Nice going.
