Start>Right-click MY Computer>Properties>Advanced>Click on "Settings" for
Performance>Advanced TAB across the top of next Window>Virtual Memory
"Change">Set it to "System Managed".
Normally, it should be set at 1 and a 1/2 times the physical RAM, if you are
going to set it..
Why do you think you need to add virtual memory? The more the system
relies on virtual memory the slower the system performance becomes. You
need to address the cause not the symptoms i.e. the symptoms being the
messages reporting low virtual memory. Changing the virtual memory
settings to Windows Managed does not resolve the problem.
What is the CPU and how much RAM does your computer have? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties to get this
information.
Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?
What is your computer make and model?

Increasing the Virtual Memory does help a little, though you wont get the
same effect as to increase the RAM itself. Furthermore, Virtual Memory eats
up your hard disk space. Personally, I would give at least 3GB for this.
